Is the era of taxi going to be the end in Europe?

Taxi means taxi cab that has License and Meter. Now they have to compete with the ‘Black Car’ which are unlicensed and added by the mobile phone app. For this protest and strike is happening.

This incident happened on Wednesday in Rome, Paris, Berlin or Milan. Angry Taxi drivers are saying that they are facing unfair competition for private car services. Big companies like ‘Uber’ or ‘So Far Private’ don’t have the training or control.

Drivers are angry about ‘Uber’ named Chauffeur Car Company of USA. Today the market value of the startup is 17 billion dollars, which are founded in 2009! Customers can contact directly with the “Black Car” service through the Uber app. Many other companies across the world have started the business following Uber, and they have succeeded.

Today, there are approximately ten thousand cars and motorcycles only in France, which is applied to a private hire taxi. Passengers could ride in a taxi if they heard that before; it can’t be stopped on the road to ride. On the other hand, these unlicensed drivers don’t have to pay nearly half a million Euros for the government license.

On Wednesday, formal taxi drivers expressed their anger in many innovative ways. The taxi drivers of Paris planned that; they will gather in both airports Charle De Gol and Curly and gradually will go to the city. In Rome, taxi drivers have a “Counter-Strike” by not charging more than 10 Euros on every trip. On the other hand, Uber said in Paris that, they will reduce 50% of their service charge.

San Francisco-based Uber Company has invested by Goldman Sacks and Google. The customers of Uber can book a taxi by using the app with their smartphone and pay them later. With another app of Uber, drivers can define the rent of the trip. And there is the objection of London’s famous Black Cab drivers. They said this second app is like a taxi meter which is illegal in that situation.
