The Daily Sangbad is the oldest Bengali Newspaper in existence, published from Bangladesh. It was first published on 17th May 1951. It was founded by a Businessman, Giashuddin Ahmed. Its founder editor is Khairul Kabir. It was bought by Muslim League in 1952. After the downfall of Muslim league in 1954’s Pakistani General Election, led to the near demise of the newspaper. At that time, A module Kabir bought the newspaper. Then he founded “The Sangbad Ltd." which still owns The Daily Sangbad Newspaper. He remained the editor of The Daily Sangbad until 2003, before his death. After his death, Altamas Kabir became its editor and Khandakar Muniruzzaman became acting editor. This 'The Daily Sangbad' offers a daily Bengali electronic edition on its website.
Before the liberation of Bangladesh, The Daily Sangbad, it publicized the negligence and colonial mindset of Pakistan leaders to East Pakistan (Now Bangladesh). The Daily Sangbad always strongly opposed all military rules of Pakistan starting from Ayub Khan to Yahya Khan. As a result, the government acted against its editors and journalists. In 1958, Pakistan's government tried to stop the publication of The Daily Sangbad.

Some of them are Toha Khan, Abed Khan, Nasiruddin Ahmed, Khairul Kabir, Shahid Ullah Kaiser, Abu Jafar Shamsuddin, Santosh Gupta, Ahmadul Kabir, Ronesh Das Gupta, Johur Hossain Chowdhury, Shotten Sen, Syed Nuruddin, Bajaur Rahman and many more.
