The Daily Sangram (In English: Daily Struggle) is one of the oldest among the existing Bengali Newspapers. It publishes from Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is owned by Bangladesh Publications Ltd. The Daily Sangram is a Pro Islamic Newspaper and strongly supports Jammat E Islami. The name of the editor is Mohammad Abul Asad, who is also the writer of the series Symon.
Daily Sangram was first published in 18th January of 1970. During the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, The Daily Sangram strongly opposed the partition of Pakistan and acted as a spokes paper of Pakistan Government and Jamaat E Islami. During the war, The Daily Sangram tried to spread the false news that the independence movement to be a conspiracy hatched by India. The Daily Sangram was banned for a few years after the liberation of Bangladesh. In 2013 Shahbag protests that demanded capital punishment for all war criminals, the protesters vowed that “We swear that we will boycott war criminals’ mass media like Diganta TV, daily Naya Diganta, daily Amardesh, daily Sangram, Sonar Bangla Blog, etc.”
Sangram publishes both Bangladesh and International news as well as local and regional perspectives. The Daily Sangram also provides entertainment, business, science, technology, sports, movies, travel, jobs, education, health, environment, human-rights news and more. The regular sections of The Daily Sangram are First and Last pages mainly containing national news of Bangladesh, Antorjatik (One Page Containing World News), Shompadokiyo and Uposhompadokiyo (Two Pages containing columns from editors and columnists), Gram Gonj Shohor (Regional News), and Khelar Khobor (Sports News).
