After being convicted of raping a lady after her detention, the Khulna Railway Police officer-in-charge and other police staff were withdrawn from duties.
Khulna GRP (Railway) Police Station OC Osman Gani Pathan and Nazmul Hoque Assistant Sub-Inspector are the locked police staff.
The two were transferred to Pakshey District Railway Police Line from Khulna GRP Station on Wednesday to perform a ' reasonable and autonomous investigation ' on the event, police assistant superintendent Firoz Ahmed of Kushtia Railway Circle said.
The 21-year-old arr-ester claimed on Friday that she was detained by police at Khulna Railway Station and taken to the railway police depot.
OC Osman Gani, Sub-Inspector Goutam Kumar Pal, Assistant Sub-Inspector Nazmul Hoque and ' Mizan ' and ' Harun ' constables gave shifts there to rape her at dusk.
The female raised the allegation against the five after she was brought before a tribunal in a situation on Saturday about the ownership of Phensedyl contraband cough syrup.
Atikus Samad, court judge, instructed the lady to confirm her declaration by ordering a medical test. She was drawn for an exam to Khulna Medical College Hospital and subsequently on Monday sent to jail.
The GRP (Railway) authorities later created a three-strong committee to review the event, headed by Superintendent Firoz Ahmed.
"Two of them were discovered to be proof of ' negligent of responsibility. ' They were opened to perform a reasonable and autonomous inspection. No choice was made against the other three police officers."
The researcher declined to act on the allegation of rape until the inquiry was finished.
The parents of the victim said she was arrested by police on Aug. 2 when she arrived from Jashore at Khulna Railway Station.
"Late at evening, OC Osman Gani murdered her. She was also breached by four police staff later. She was brought to trial on a drug situation with five Phensedyl containers."
They also charged OC Gani with bribing the relatives of the woman with a large sum of cash to cover up his supposed crime.
OC Osman rejected the allegation, saying, "A woman security squad headed by a woman sub-inspector arrested her with five cans of Phensedyl. That evening, a maximum of eight police officers, including three prison officers, was guiding her to the police officer.
