The Caretaker Government was forced to cancel: Justice Khairul Haque

The former chief justice A. B. M Khairul Haque told that they had been forced to cancel the thirteenth amendment to the Constitution which included the interim government system during the election.

He said, “We’ve been forced to cancel the thirteenth amendment because our constitution and the rule of law do not support the government without public democracy for three months.

The judge said all these in a seminar of Judicial Administration and Training Institute in Dhaka on Wednesday. During this time, he answered various questions. “The Judgment was given in regard to demand democracy," he said, “the only purpose of this order was to keep the democracy flowing. By reading the decision, it can be understood. In the constitution, it is clearly written that people are the sole owners of the country. This will be conducted in accordance with the will of the people of the country. At this time, the people's sovereignty, perpetually in motion cannot be adjourned for a single day," added the former Chief Justice.

Former Chief Justice also said, “The attackers of minority communities should be brought under justice. They are evil people who made attacks on minorities. I do not accept any of their political identity. It is a very tragic arson attack on the home of the minority communities. It is certainly not desirable. As the country's senior citizen, as a Muslim, I am ashamed.”

Chief research officer of the Law Commission, Fouzul Azim presented a draft named 'Abolishing Discrimination Laws-2014' in the seminar. Justice Khairul Haque presided over the seminar. Human Rights Commission Chairman Dr. Mizanur Rahman also spoke in that seminar.
